This was a very fun project to design. The subject matter expert (SME) was a librarian, teaching their first-year graduate students about conducting research with the library. Through this fun eLearning module, students were introduced to the various library databases and were coached through the development of a proper research question. Along the way, students were asked questions, and if answered incorrectly, they were placed in the brig for 15 seconds. Multimedia elements included sounds of wind, seagulls, and boat bells; and animations of waving pirate flags, sailing ships, and sharks were included to add fun and engagement for learning enjoyment.
